Frequently asked questions
Everything clients usually want to know before booking, answered plainly. Still unsure? Message me on WhatsApp and ask.
General
Most clients are surprised how comfortable it is. Numbing cream is applied before and during the session, so the sensation is usually a light scratching or tingling rather than pain. I have had clients with full-sleeve tattoos ask this exact question, and the honest answer is that brow embroidery should hurt much less than a tattoo on your arm or back. Everyone’s tolerance is different, but very few find it difficult.
Generally two to three years before it fades enough to want a refresh, though this varies with your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure and aftercare. It is semi-permanent by design, so your brows can evolve with you rather than being fixed forever.
Microblading is fine, individual hair-like strokes for the most natural look. Soft Powder Brow (our signature) is a gentle powder shading, like a light brow makeup, which suits oily skin well. Combination blends both for full, dimensional brows. At your consultation I recommend the one that will heal best on your skin and give the result you want, not the most expensive one.
We look at your natural brows, your skin type, your features and the look you are after. Skin type matters a lot, fine strokes can blur on oily skin, where shading holds better. I will always tell you honestly what will work, even if it is the simpler option.
Most healthy adults are good candidates. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with certain skin conditions or medications. If you have any health concerns, check with your doctor first and let me know at the consultation.
No, and you should be wary of anyone who promises that. Our faces are naturally asymmetrical, so I measure to your bone structure and balance the two sides as far as your features allow. Think of good brows as sisters, not twins. If 100 percent symmetry is what you are after, I will tell you honestly that brow embroidery may not be for you.
Before your session
Pregnant is strictly no. Breastfeeding mothers are advised to wait until baby is at least 3 months old before doing their brows.
Avoid alcohol, caffeine and blood-thinning supplements (like fish oil) for 24–48 hours, as they can increase sensitivity. Come with clean skin, and feel free to bring a photo of brows you like. Avoid brow waxing or tinting for a week before.
No need, come as you are. It actually helps me to see your natural brows. If you usually fill them in, you are welcome to bring a photo of your everyday look so I understand the result you want.
Often yes, but it depends on what is already there and how faded it is. Send me a clear, makeup-free photo on WhatsApp and I will tell you honestly whether I can work over it or whether it needs to fade further first.
Tell me, because it changes how I work. When I know dark brows are your worry, I control the intensity of the colour I deposit, and we can look through photos of my past healed work together so you can point at what feels right. Many clients now deliberately go slightly lighter, knowing the colour can be deepened at a touch-up if it fades more than they like. Remember too that brows look darkest in the first few days and soften as they heal.
Often yes, and it is one of the most common problems I correct. Reddish brows come from pigment that carried too much red in its base, or from a heavy-handed technique that scarred the skin (scar redness is usually permanent). I can tune the colour back towards a natural brown, but I will be honest with you: as the new pigment fades over the years, the red underneath will slowly show through again, and even laser struggles to remove it fully. Send me a clear, makeup-free photo on WhatsApp and I will tell you what is realistic.
During the session
Usually about 1.5 to 2 hours.
Always. I draw your proposed shape on first and we refine it together until you are happy. Nothing permanent begins until you love what you see in the mirror.
Single-use, sterile, sealed needles and cartridges are opened in front of you and disposed of after your session. All surfaces are sanitised, and I follow strict hygiene practice throughout. Your safety is non-negotiable.
Healing & aftercare
Please avoid heavy sweating, swimming, saunas and hot yoga for about two weeks while the area heals. Excess moisture and friction can affect how the pigment settles. Light movement is fine.
The colour looks darker and sharper for the first few days, then lightens as the skin flakes over days five to ten. In week two it can look patchy or almost gone: this is the normal "ghosting" stage. The true colour then blooms back over four to six weeks. Once you are fully healed, some clients choose a touch-up, others are happy as-is.
Keep makeup away from the treated area until it has fully healed (around two weeks). You can wear makeup elsewhere as normal.
Yes, within reason. This is Singapore, so staying indoors is not realistic advice. Short exposure, like walking to the MRT or a bus stop, is fine: as a rule of thumb, under 15 minutes of direct sun is generally okay. Longer than that can make healing brows fade faster, and strong sun can even push the colour towards grey over time. For longer stretches outside, wear a cap or large sunglasses that cover the brow area, and skip hikes and long outdoor hours until you are healed.
Touch-ups & maintenance
No, touch-ups are not bundled into the price. They are optional, and charged at clear tiered rates that step up with time since your session. Current rates are always on the pricing page. After 12 months, standard new-service pricing applies.
Most clients return for a refresh within 12 months to keep things crisp, though many go longer. Refreshes are quicker than the original session and priced at our tiered touch-up rates (see the pricing page).
No. Touch-up rates are strictly reserved for existing Brow Your Way customers. Original new-service pricing applies for any new customers, even if they have done their brows elsewhere before.
Pricing & booking
A $20 deposit is paid by PayNow to secure your slot, and is deducted from your total. The balance can be settled on the day. I will share payment details once we confirm your appointment.
No. The price you see includes the consultation, design, session, and aftercare kit. Touch-ups, if you choose to have one, are charged separately at clear tiered rates. No upselling and no pressure to buy packages.
The $20 deposit secures your slot and is deducted from your final price. It is non-refundable in the case of a no-show or a cancellation with less than 48 hours’ notice, as the time is reserved exclusively for you. It is also not returned once your appointment has begun. Your session starts with the design rather than the pigment: I map and draw the shape onto your skin first, and that work is what the deposit pays for. If you see the drawing and decide not to go ahead, nothing permanent is done, but the deposit is forfeited.
